It is a cemetery and memorial in Baku dedicated to the dead of the massacre carried out by the Soviet army during the events of Black January 1990, and the murders of the Karabakh Highlands War in 1988-1994.
The Surakhani ship played an important role in the history of the transport of Azerbaijani oil by sea. The tanker Surakhani returns and first took off in the Caspian Sea in 1957. Until recently, the tanker Surakhani was used as an oil refining station at ASCO. In 2017, the ship was converted into a museum.
The building was built on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Lenin's birth, designed by the Azerbaijani engineer Hassan Megidov in 1960, and according to the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan the museum building became subordinate to the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan and after that it was named the Museum Center, the museum houses more than 110 thousand exhibits, among which are copies of Lenin's manuscripts, collecting materials about the life of Lenin and his followers.
